Pelin graduated in 2015 from Pamukkale University Department of Business Administration (English), and was actively involved in social activities throughout her life. She participated on the folk dances team, and worked with children with disabilities. At the end of her third year she interned in the General Directorate of Economy of the Ministry of Economy for one month. During the First Chance program (2016), she worked for 12 months at the Turkish Education Foundation as a Donation/Fundraising Assistant. Upon completing the program, Pelin started at Price Waterhouse Coopers as a Business Development and CRM Operation Specialist in January 2017.

Darüşşafaka Society IT Specialist Assistant

Gül graduated in 2015 from Karabük University Department of Computer Engineering with honors and received a 10% success scholarship from the university and Ahmet Nezahat Keleşoğlu Foundation.  Gül was an intern at a large publishing group and Yıldız Technical University R&D Unit, realized a software project with counsellor instructor and realized a project on big data.  She created an annual-monthly profit by improving the quality of the data and a software that shows endorsement. During the First Chance Program, for 21 months she served as a Project Management Office Assistant at Darüşşafaka Society (2016). As of April 2017, she started working as a Project and Service Management Assistant Expert at Data Market Information Services.



Cihan Cangir, İstanbul

Support to Life Association Human Resources Assistant

Cihan graduated in 2015 from Uludağ University Department of Labor Economics and Industrial Relations, and received a State Scholarship throughout his studies. Cihan volunteered in Turkish Education Volunteers Foundation (TEGV) and Community Volunteers Foundation (TOG) and worked on projects for rural children and painted schools.  Cihan was trained in the field of human resources during university,and hopes to continue his career in this area. During the First Chance program in 2016, Cihan served as a Human Resources Assistant at the Support to Life Association. As of 2017, he continues to work in the same NGO, but now as a Purchasing Assistant.

Turkish Education Volunteers Foundation (TEGV) Fire Fly Mobile Education Unit Manager

Mustafa graduated in 2015 from Van 100. Year University Department of Business Administration. When he was a child, he benefited from Turkish Education Volunteers Foundation's (TEGV) education services and later on he became a TGEV volunteer while he studied in Van. Mustafa was an instructor in the drama workshop, Dreamers Workshop, Explore Good Life, Good Life My Adventurer and provided basic volunteer training. During the First Chance program in 2016, Mustafa served as a Fire Fly Mobile Education Unit Manager at TEGV. He continues to work in this position as of January 2017.

*Fire Fly is TEGV's mobile training program. The rigs offer post-school programs for children, traveling in the province or by visiting different cities.



Oya Güzel, Kütahya

Alternative Lives Association (AYDER) Communication Assistant

Oya graduated in 2015 from Sakarya University Department of International Relations. She was an intern at various private sector organizations and held several part-time jobs. Oya was an active volunteer at TEGV, LÖSEV and TEMA (the Turkish Foundation for Combating Soil Erosion, for Reforestation and the Protection of Natural Habitats), also received a KOSGEB entrepreneurship certificate, organized trainings, seminars and events in schools.. She was also a member of the Turkish Art Music choir and folk dances group throughout her high school and university life. During the First Chance program in 2016, Oya worked as a Communication Assistant at Alternative Lives Association (AYDER) for 12 months. As of January 2017, she continues to serve in this position.



Ayşe İsmigüzel, İstanbul

Darüşşafaka Society Human Resources Assistant

Ayşe graduated in 2015 from Balıkesir University Department of Business Administration, continued her language training in Canada, and went to Poland with the Erasmus program at the 3rd year, and to Serbia the following year. She is interested in music and is an active member of the TRT Choir, plays bender and takes part in a rhythm group. Ayşe is interested in social responsibility, and has been an active volunteer. She was selected as a vice president of the school among 3000 high school students, actively taking a role in addressing many problems and wishes of the student body.  As part of the First Chance program in 2016, she served as a Human Resources Assistant at the Darüşşafaka Society. As of January 2017, she is a Human Resources and Administrative Affairs Assistant at Binder Seidman International.

Melissa graduated in 2014 from Kocaeli University Department of Painting. During her studies she attended university and went to Italy with the Erasmus Program, developing her Italian, was as a guest painter and organized art week activities. In addition to being a painter, Melissa wanted to develop and curate in the field of art activities organization. She completed academic translations in the field of print, sculpture, seminar and art symposiums. During the First Chance program in 2016, Melissa served as a Sponsorship Assistant at Istanbul Culture and Arts Foundation (İKSV).

Turkish Foundation for Combating Soil Erosion, for Reforestation and the Protection of Natural Habitats Operations and Purchasing Assistant

Gökçe graduated in 2015 from Trakya University Department of International Trade. He is the founder of Keşan University Thinking Society. He was a volunteer at the New Trakya Special Education and Rehabilitation Center and Special Olympics, supporting children with disabilities. He also attended school clubs in the fields of philosophy and entrepreneurship, and attended conferences and seminars. As a First Chance participant in 2016, he served as an Operations and Purchasing Assistant at the Turkish Foundation for Combating Soil Erosion, for Reforestation and the Protection of Natural Habitats (TEMA). He continues to serve in this position as of January 2017.

Mehmet graduated in 2015 from Gümüşhane University Department of Politics and Public Administration. He received a scholarship from Turkish Education Foundation during his university studies, and participated in many different social clubs and completed several internships.  Mehmet was a volunteer at UNICEF and founded the Young Breakthrough Club, took on tasks in the Health Club and other social clubs.   During the First Chance program in 2016, Mehmet served as a Fundraising Assistant at the Turkish Foundation for Combating Soil Erosion, for Reforestation and the Protection of Natural Habitats (TEMA). He continues to serve in this position as of January 2017.

Turkish Education Foundation (TEV) Human Resources Assistant

Duygu graduated in 2014 from Cukurova University Department of Hospitality Management, and completed an internship in a large hotel. With a goal to work in human resources, Duygu attended additional training in this area. As a volunteer, she went to Romania to work with an NGO for 6 months, and volunteered for 6 years under the roof of a local NGO that she established with her friends, and worked with children with leukaemia in hospitals, for the elders in the nursing home, and helped theatre companies raise funds. As a First Chance participant in 2016, Duygu served as Human Resources Assistant at the Turkish Education Foundation (TEV). As of January 2017, she continues to serve in this position.

Darüşşafaka Society Purchasing Assistant

Kübra graduated in 2015 from the Sakarya University Department of the Industrial Engineering. She has competency in Lindo, Avakoza ERP, SmartDraw programs, AutoCAD, Visual Basic, C ++, SQL SERVER, Promodel, SketchUp programs at a basic level. Kübra, joined KOSGEB (small and medium size business network) trainings, and continued her ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) trainings for one year. Kubra's e-grocery project (her thesis on e-commerce) was shared at the Ministry of Industry. Kübra did an internship at Sakarya Technocity, and took part in various trainings, entrepreneurship projects, mountaineering and climbing and activities and salsa dancing. As a First Chance participant in 2016, she started working as a Purchasing Assistant at Darüşşafaka Society. As of January 2017, she works as an Operation Support Specialist / Service Engineer at Topkapı Group.



Fehime Sürükli, Adana

Community Volunteers Foundation (TOG) Accounting Assistant

Fehime graduated in 2014 from Cukurova University Department of Business Administration, and went to Germany with the Erasmus Program to learn German. Fehime worked as a volunteer to help with fundraising and school colouring for the Community Volunteers Foundation (TOG) and also worked on projects of the Ministry of Youth and Sports. As a First Chance participant in 2016, Fehime served as the Accounting and Administrative Affairs Coordinator at the Community Volunteers Foundation (TOG).  She continues to serve in this role as of January 2017.

Turkish Education Volunteers Foundation (TEGV) Fire Fly Mobile Education Unit Officer

Savaş graduated in 2015 from Kocaeli, University Department of Radio, Cinema and TV, and was engaged in various activities as a member of Kocaeli University Dance Club and Cultural Arts Club. Savaş worked part time, completed internships and was a volunteer at UNICEF, TEGV and Amnesty International and worked with children with disabilities. Heserved as a volunteer intern/ assistant in the Medea theatre play of the theatre performer Dilruba Saatçi after his graduation and  also worked on the set of 1453 Fatih Istanbul fılm. Having participated in the First Chance program in 2016, he worked as a Fire Fly Mobile Education Unit Officer at Turkey Education Volunteers Foundation (TEGV).  Savaş continues to serve in this position as of January 2017.

Istanbul Culture and Arts Foundation (IKSV) Field Support Assistant

Enes graduated in 2015 from Kocaeli University Department of Advertising, and was an active volunteer at TEMA, Kocaeli Municipality Youth Center and Kocaeli City Council. He was also a social media affairs volunteer for the KariyerIst Program. Enes likes taking pictures with analogue cameras and seeks to pursue a working with NGOs and educational institutions where he can produce value through his expertise in digital communications. As a First Chance participant in 2016, Enes was a Field Operations Assistant at Istanbul Culture and Arts Foundation (IKSV. Enes established Happy Partners Digital Marketing Agency in January 2017.



Büşra Yuka, Ankara

Büşra Yuka, Ankara

Youth Lives Foundation Project Training Assistant

Büşra graduated in 2015 from Selçuk University Department of Industrial Engineering. She spent the last year of her university studies in Europe with the Erasmus Program and visited many countries. Her thesis was on the comparison of alternative energy source using the Copras G mathematical method. Büşra was also actively involved in the read-dream-sharing project, selected for leadership school at Young Guru Academy and involved in finding scholarships with her teammates for two children, one of which is visually impaired.  As a First Chance participant in 2016, Büşra served as Field Assistant at Youth Lives Foundation. As of January 2017, she continues to serve in this position.
